the fine print
I collect as little as I can, I tell you what I collect, and I do not sell it. This policy explains what happens to information you share on carolinehuntley.com.

This policy covers carolinehuntley.com, the personal website of Caroline Huntley, including the inquiry form and the pages linked from it. It is run by Caroline Huntley, with the creative studio Huntley Studio.
It does not cover the sites and tools I link to, which each have their own policies: myportalist.com, huntleystudio.com, fieldnote.huntleystudio.com, stan.store, and my Instagram and Substack accounts. Please read theirs before sharing anything there.
Only what you choose to send. When you fill in the inquiry form I receive and store:
Every field is optional apart from the basics I need to reply. Nothing on this site asks you to sign up for an account, and I do not run an email list from here. If you would rather write to me directly, that is fine too.
Like most websites, this one records some basic information about visits so I can understand what people actually read and where the site falls short.
There are no advertising pixels, no retargeting tags, and no third-party trackers beyond the two named above. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.
To answer you, to remember the shape of the conversation if you write back, and to see which pages and offerings are genuinely useful. That is the whole list.
I do not sell, rent, or trade your information. I do not share it with advertisers, and I do not use it to build a profile about you for any purpose other than replying well.
A handful of services help the site function, each bound by its own terms:
If I ever have to disclose information to comply with a legal request, or to protect someone's safety or rights, I will tell you what I can, when I can.
Inquiry submissions stay in the database until you ask me to remove them, or until I no longer have a reason to keep them. Analytics data is kept for the shortest window the tool allows.
If we work together, anything we exchange is kept for as long as the project and our records reasonably require, then deleted.
You can ask me at any time for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to caroline@carolinehuntley.com and I will take care of it, usually within a week.
You can also simply not fill in the form, use a browser or extension that blocks analytics cookies, or clear your browser storage. The site works either way.
Access to the site's data is limited to the people and services who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure, so please use judgment about anything sensitive, and do not send me financial details, health records, or anything you would not want repeated.
This site is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 16. I do not knowingly collect information from children, and if I learn that I have, I delete it.
I will update this page and the date at the top. If a change materially affects how I handle something you already shared, I will say so plainly here rather than bury it.
